Hi everyone and thanks for dropping by.

I'd like to thank all my faithful fans for supporting me in such numbers at the launch of Isorhythm's new album "Shifting Sands" at The Pheasantry in Chelsea in November. There were some amazing performances from the guys in the band: Ben Waghorn, Carl Orr, Fred Thelonius Baker and Asaf Sirkis.

The album is available from www.amazon.co.uk, www.propermusic.com and at all good record shops. If you would like a signed copy, please send a cheque for £11.50 (£10 + £1.50 p+p) made payable to Geoff Eales to the following address : Geoff Eales. 47 Howard Close, New Southgate, London N11 1EH.

The CD is already accumulating some nice reviews. Here's just a small sample :

"if you thought a jazz-funk band can't move both your feet and your heart, think again, because Shifting Sands is proof positive that the two are not mutually exclusive. A fine album, indeed" - George Cole (author of The Last Miles)

"Eales is a thoroughly mature and versatile musician, and this album is a welcome addition to his impressive discography"- Chris Parker (London Jazz)

"it's a real pleasure to hear Eales digging out a deeply funky groove on Fender Rhodes on the likes of "Hot Night in Vindolanda" and "Ultimate Journey". Move over Chick! "- Robert Shore (Jazzwise)

The band will be touring the UK in late Spring 2012. We kick off at Chelsea's 606 Club on April 18th and we end at Stratford Jazz on June 3rd.

Also on the cards for 2012 is a new album with my improvising trio (featuring Ben Waghorn once again and the formidable young bassist, Ashley John Long) recorded live at Cardiff's Dempseys in May 2011. It's sometimes good to work from a totally blank canvas and let the music take you where it will.

Another project scheduled for 2012 is a series of concerts entitled "A Hundred Years of Jazz Piano". Here I trace the history of jazz piano from its early roots in Ragtime to the contemporary sounds of today. The audience is taken on an exciting journey through Harlem Stride, swing, bebop, hardbop, free-wheeling improvisation, modal jazz and fusion ending with Eales being Eales!

So, as you can see, 2012 promises to be a very interesting and challenging year.

All that's left of this year is to wish you all a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

Geoff
